BAE SYSTEMS AWARDED $58 MILLION U.S. NAVY CONTRACT

ROCKVILLE, Md. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston has selected BAE Systems for a $58 million contract to provide technical services. The cumulative value of the contract could reach $314 million if all options are exercised.

Work will be provided by BAE Systems employees in government facilities worldwide, and is expected to be completed by March 2006. The contract includes four one-year options.

Under the contract, BAE Systems will provide evaluations, surveys, design, procurement, integration, installation, testing, and sustainment of security and Anti-Terrorism-Force Protection (ATFP) systems at government facilities worldwide. This includes associated engineering, technical, and logistics services to support these requirements. This contract will replace an existing contract and will include provisions to allow for design and installation of new and future ATFP systems.

The award of this contract to BAE Systems provides a continuation of a long-standing relationship with our SPAWAR customer in Charleston, said Robert Murphy, president, BAE Systems Technology Solutions. We look forward to continuing our physical and electronic security, automation, and law enforcement support to SPAWAR and its sponsors on this contract.

BAE Systems has been providing engineering and technical support to SPAWAR Systems Center, Charleston and its predecessor organizations since the late 1960s. The company provided physical security and technical and engineering services to the Navys Remote Sensor Systems for Physical Security (RSSPS) program from the late 1960s through 1992, under a series of competitive contracts in support of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and what was then, Naval Electronic Systems Engineering Center (NEVELEX), Charleston. The NAVSEA contracts centered on research and development support and security analysis and planning. The NEVELEX , Charleston contracts focused on installation design and system installations and upgrades.
